London 21st March 2011 - Worldlink announced today the establishment of Worldlink India. Worldlink has identified India as a key growth area for the company’s range of innovative mobile solutions. Worldlink sees great opportunities in India for the company’s existing applications as well as being a source of new ideas in the mobile application space.
Sandip Sarda and Hemant Patel will be responsible for establishing Worldlink India. Initially they will be launching Worldlink’s financial markets and sports services to Indian consumers.
A consequence of the rapid growth of the Indian economy means that there is now
a huge target market for Worldlink’s mobile applications.
Sandip Sarda will head up Strategic Alliances and Hemant Patel business development. Sandip Sarda says ‘We are delighted to be establishing Worldlink India, and the time is now right to be establishing an Indian presence for the company. Not only is India a great market for Worldlink applications, it is a fantastic source of creativity for mobile applications. I look forward to a day not far in the future when we launch a new Indian developed mobile application in Europe !’
Sandip Sarda is a seasoned telecom and media executive, with extensive technology and business development experience. A pioneer in the field of Interactive TV, Sandip has over 15 years of direct experience in VOD, IPTV, TV2.0 and new media initiatives. At BT, he helped establish ISP operations in India and Malaysia as well as setting up operations in East and Southern Africa for various companies. He was the founder and CTO of AssetHouse technology, which he exited successfully in 2008 with a trade sale. He is an advisor to Africa Channel and sits on various boards and was elected Cable & Satellite Top 50 people in Europe Award.
Hemant Patel, has been involved in the financial services industry since 1982. He has been actively involved in M&A as well as the creation and management of various funds with his partners in excess of £500m. In addition, Hemant is a serial investor in various leading technology companies and acting as a 'Concierge Banker' for global companies for emerging markets.
