Newstrike Resources Ltd. Resignation and Appointment of Director
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/27/13 -- Newstrike Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: NR) ("Newstrike") announces that with sincere regrets, it has accepted Murray Cooper's resignation as a Director. Murray feels that it is his time to retire from corporate affairs.
Murray has been an enthusiastic and diligent Director since the Company's inception. He meticulously covered all material as Chairman of the Audit Committee and attended all of the meetings.
Murray made time to pay careful attention to Newstrike during the time he was busy as President of Northern Telephone Company, Temiskaming Foundation and other companies as well as many civic responsibilities.
The Company will miss Murray and thank him for his years of service.
The Company also announces that Mr. Scott Kelly has been appointed to the Board of Directors. Scott is the Executive Vice President and a director of Kombat Copper Inc., a junior mining company operating in Africa. In addition, Mr. Kelly is the President of a private strategic advisory consulting firm, Cabrana Capital Advisors Inc., focused on emerging market resources. Mr. Kelly is the former Sr. Vice President of TMX Equicom where he guided strategic communications for numerous companies. Mr. Kelly is a trusted adviser to Chief Executive Officer's and management teams and has over 15 years' experience maximizing awareness for public companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Kelly has served as an independent director on a number of private company boards and currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Kombat Copper Inc., Giyani Gold Corp. and C Level III Inc.
