Press Release 2 September 2013

OP-Pohjola to update its ICT services operating model

OP-Pohjola will update the operating model for its ICT services by outsourcing
some of its application development and maintenance services. It has signed the
related letters of intent with Accenture and CGI.

The new operating model will improve the Group's competitiveness, streamline the
production of services and make the product development process more flexible.
As part of these letters of intent and the outsourcing of the services,
approximately 500 OP-Services Ltd employees working for application development
and maintenance would join new employers under comparable employment terms and
conditions.

These measures represent a continuation of the efficiency-enhancement programme
launched within OP-Pohjola Group Central Cooperative Consolidated last autumn
and form an important part of the efforts to improve the Group's future
competitiveness. The new ICT operating model would generate annual cost savings
of over 20 million euros after a transitional period.

- Amidst drastic changes in the financial sector, we have searched for the tools
that enable us to control increasing costs, improve our competitiveness and make
our processes leaner, says Harri Nummela, CEO, OP-Services Ltd.

- We have examined various options carefully and tried to find a solution that
supports dynamism and cost-efficiency. We are now choosing long-term business
partners. Through these new partnerships, we aim to create more flexible and
effective processes that will also provide us with a competitive edge far into
the future. As OP-Pohjola plans to give our partners more responsibility for
application development and maintenance, it can increasingly focus on its core
business, on improving service reliability and assuring the quality of services,

says Petri Imberg, Senior Vice President, ICT Services.

Based on the outsourcing agreements, which have yet to be finalized, Accenture
would play a major role in the ICT model for OP-Pohjola Group's banking services
and CGI for insurance services. The agreements under development would involve
the transfer of a total of approximately 500 OP-Services Ltd employees working
for application development and maintenance to new employers under comparable
employment terms and conditions. This transfer is expected to take place in
November. The parties aim to complete the related contract negotiations by the
end of September.
