Founding Managing Director AndréSelleneit returns to DEAG Music
AndréSelleneit and Björn Teske will manage the label jointly
Berlin, September 03, 2013 - AndréSelleneit has returned to the success
label DEAG Music on September 01 and takes over, together with Björn Teske,
the executive management.
AndréSelleneit and DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG (ISIN DE000A0Z23G6)
founded DEAG Music in 2005. The label offers its artists a perfect
360-degree model. Within the integrated DEAG Group, all areas, which are
decisive for the professional career of an artist, from the label through
publishing, merchandizing and PR to one of the most successful tour
organizers, are available under a single roof.
Professional careers such as those of David Garrett - with top chart
positions as well as fully booked arenas and open airs - or of Cäthe are
convincing examples to demonstrate how this close network of professional
expertise and creativity makes a contribution towards the success of DEAG
Music's artists.
AndréSelleneit, one of the most successful and prominent makers on the
music market of the past 20 years, will give a fresh impetus to DEAG Music.
A first joint signing by AndréSelleneit and Björn Teske is the artist BE
IGNACIO from Sao Paulo/Brazil. The single 'Sununga' will be digitally
published by DEAG Music on September 06, 2013. 'Sununga' has positioned
itself successfully in all relevant media and has already climbed to number
79 of the German Single Media Control Charts through radio broadcasts
alone. The debut album 'India Urbana' will be published in September.
Since the early 1980's Selleneit was in charge of areas such as A&R,
Marketing and Promotion and from 1992 onwards he was Managing Director of
BMG Berlin. He was one of the key drivers of the No. 1 successes with
Modern Talking, Yvonne Catterfeld and Die Prinzen. Together with his team,
he achieved many international and world successes with artists such as
Right Said Fred and Lou Bega's Mambo No. 5.
During the past three years Selleneit was in charge of the executive
management of SONY Music label Ariola, where he was co-responsible for the
extraordinarily successful co-operation between Andrea Berg and Dieter
Bohlen.
Andy Selleneit comments: 'It is something special for me to return to DEAG
Music and I am looking forward to co-operation with Björn and our super
team. The approach to the positioning of a label is unique, and with the
360 degree model we will discover new artist personalities and bring them
to the fore.'
Björn Teske, who has been managing DEAG Music since 2010 and signed artists
such as Cäthe, Alexander Klaws, Makeshift Innocence or Perpetuum Jazzile
worked previously for BMG, SONY BMG and SONY Music/Columbia for 13 years,
including nine years as Director A&R.
Björn Teske is looking forward to the renewed co-operation with Andy
Selleneit: 'I have had many years of very successful co-operation with Andy
at BMG Berlin during which we jointly built professional careers of artists
such as Alexander Klaws and Yvonne Catterfeld. Andy recruited me at DEAG
Music in 2010. Not least because of the many years of trustful
relationships, I am very much looking forward to a renewal of this
