Nationale Suisse and Baloise Insurance are to work together to insure major art
collections and exhibitions in Switzerland. This will allow clients to benefit
from greater insurance capacity available locally as well as tailored solutions.

The two Basel-based insurers Nationale Suisse and Baloise Insurance are to enter
into a partnership in the art insurance sector and will be working together to
pool their capacity for the Swiss market locally. In the future, major art
collections and exhibitions held by museums, foundations and companies, but also
private individuals, will be insured jointly under the overall management of
Nationale Suisse. With this co-insurance of location, storage and transport
risks at a local level, Switzerland's leading players on the art market will
have even better opportunities to easily access greater insurance capacity and
to benefit from solutions tailored precisely to Swiss requirements.

Shared expertise and better access to the market
The two insurers also stand to gain from the partnership: in respect of major
risks, this non-exclusive cooperation will enable Baloise Insurance to draw on
the experience and positioning gained by Nationale Suisse over many years as an
internationally renowned art insurer. In addition, the two co-insurers will gain
enhanced access within this segment of the art insurance market, where large
sums are involved.

Strengthening the range of art insurance services for brokers and clients in
Switzerland
Hans Künzle, CEO of Nationale Suisse, is delighted to have found an area of
business to cultivate together with Baloise that is attractive to both

companies: "This partnership puts us in an even better position to further
strengthen the range of art insurance services that Swiss insurers can provide
to brokers and clients in Switzerland. We believe that the long tradition we
both share of actively collecting and promoting art will be a further key
element underpinning successful collaboration." Michael Müller, CEO of Baloise
Insurance Switzerland, stresses the added value for clients: "This cooperation
allows us to provide even greater security for our clients in the art sector.
The new, tailored insurance solutions will complement our current wide range of
services."
