Human Arc "Race to a Million" 5K/2K Fundraiser to Benefit Cleveland Foodbank
(firmenpresse) - CLEVELAND, OH -- (Marketwired) -- 09/05/13 -- Human Arc, a leader in reimbursement and revenue enhancement services for hospitals and health plans, will host its third annual Race to a Million 5K/2K event Saturday, September 28, 2013. Proceeds benefit the Cleveland Foodbank.
Race to a Million is Human Arc's flagship community initiative toward positively impacting one million people each year. Since its inception, the event has funded 275,000 meals for needy people.
The Cleveland event is one of three that will raise money to fight hunger. Events will also be held at company locations in Michigan and Missouri. The 2013 collective goal is to raise money to provide 385,000 meals -- 286,000 through the Cleveland Foodbank.
"This event is exceptionally rewarding for Human Arc," stated Jeff Markle, Human Arc President and Chief Operating Officer. "It is an amazing achievement for a company of just six hundred individuals to make a difference in an incredible way for hundreds of thousands of hungry people. The Cleveland event will feature family activities, refreshments and cash awards for the top three finishers, ranging up to $500. The event will be held at Human Arc's headquarters, 1457 East 40th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44103. Race-day registrations begin at 7:30 a.m., with the race starting at 9:15 a.m.

The Cleveland Foodbank provides food and critical nonfood products to nonprofit organizations which serve hungry individuals across northeast Ohio. In 2012, it distributed 35.4 million pounds of food to more than 700 local food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other programs such as child-care centers and homes for the elderly in six Ohio counties including Cuyahoga, Ashland, Richland, Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula.
