Orex Appoints Willie McLucas as President and CEO of Orex Exploration
(firmenpresse) - MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 09/10/13 -- OREX EXPLORATION INC. (the "Company")(TSX VENTURE: OX)(FRANKFURT: O5D) is pleased to announce that Willie McLucas has been appointed as President and CEO of the Company, effective immediately, by Orex's Board of Directors. He succeeds Mark Billings, who will remain as a director and as Chairman of the Board of the Company.
Willie McLucas is a mining financier with over 35 years' experience covering all aspects of the mining industry from exploration through to production in coal, gold and base metals. His experience has taken him to Australia, Bolivia, Chile, France, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Turkey and Zimbabwe. After an early career as a stockbroker and fund manager, his first appointment to the board of a listed company was with Perseverance Corporation in Australia. Perseverance developed the Fosterville mine outside Bendigo in Victoria, Australia.
Commenting on his appointment, Willie said: "After a career working with several Canadian companies, it is a pleasure to be able to join Orex and to focus on a Canadian project that offers the potential of the Goldboro property in Nova Scotia. The board of directors, as elected at the Company's annual general meeting of shareholders on May 27, 2013, includes: Mark Billings, Michael Dehn, Will Felderhof, Jacques Levesque (who is also CFO of the Company) and Claude Poulin. Willie McLucas joins the Company as President and CEO, and Julie Godard remains as Corporate Secretary of Orex.
