DEGERenergie registers growing interest in single and dual-axis MLD systems in Greece
Horb am Neckar, Germany, 28 April 2011. In Greece, DEGERenergie is registering a strong rise in interest in its MLD technology. Since the third quarter of 2010, the company has installed systems with a total output of more than 1 megawatt there. Additional substantial orders are expected in the months to come.

(firmenpresse) - DEGERenergie is continuously expanding its position as the global market leader for solar tracking systems. Orders from various countries and regular trade fair appearances confirm the special status and ever-increasing reputation of the products and patented MLD technology of DEGERenergie.
At this year"s ECOTEC exhibition for environmental technologies and photovoltaic systems in Athens, for example, the world market leader for solar tracking systems received great praise and an enormous response to their single and dual-axis tracking systems. Not least the smaller TOPtraker 8.5 system for installation on roofs attracted wide interest from the visitors.
An additional annual profit
of 2,250 Euros for private clients
Above all, as these systems perfectly fit into the political framework of Greece: The current Greek government program subsidizes 10 kW photovoltaic units on roofs with a tax-free feed-in tariff of 0.55 Euro per kilowatt hour with a 25 year contract duration. Ioannis Markopoulos, Sales Director Greece at DEGERenergie, explains the essential factor: "With the installation of a single-axis MLD-TOPtraker 8.5, customers can achieve a yield that is about 30 percent higher than that of rigid systems. They can actually increase their annual tax-free profit from about 7,500 Euros to 9,800 Euros."
Larger DEGERenergie MLD systems are also attracting a rising number of satisfied customers in Greece. Since the third quarter of 2010, the company"s local partners have installed dual-axis DEGERtraker 9000NT systems with a total output of more than 2 megawatt. During the ECOTEC, intensive preliminary negotiations with interested parties took place. These included the upcoming assembly of projects already licensed, ranging from 500 kW to 2 MW and 5 MW.
Excellent reputation for ease of
installation and reliability
According to Ioannis Markopoulos, this is not only a question of a positive cost-benefit ratio, but can also be attributed to the excellent reputation of DEGERenergie"s MLD technology in Greece thanks to its ease of installation and reliability. The sales director is convinced that several of the recent negotiations will lead to orders in the weeks to come.
On a different note, DEGERenergie has set up the new Kolovos solar park one hundred kilometers west of Athens with 30 DEGERtraker of the 7000NT type. The installed power is 200 kWp. During clear sky days of April 2011 the Kolovos solar park exhibited a daily yield of 2100 kWh.
The patented DEGERenergie Maximum Light Detection (MLD) technology makes it possible to improve the energy yield of solar power plants by up to 45 percent compared to rigid systems.
DEGERenergie was founded in 1999 by Artur Deger and today is the world market leader in solar tracking systems. Worldwide, more than 35,000 DEGERenergie systems are installed in over 40 countries. The company is represented in Spain, Greece and North America with its own subsidiaries and cooperates with local distribution and service partners in many countries across the world.

About DEGERenergie (www.DEGERenergie.com):
DEGERenergie is the leading manufacturer with the world"s largest product range of single and dual-axis solar tracking systems. The company"s market position is based on the unique patented Maximum Light Detection (MLD) technology developed by Artur Deger, which makes it possible to maximize the yield of solar power plants with an "intelligent" control. With the DEGERconecter, the solar modules are thus always aligned according to the brightest position in the sky with the highest energy yield. This way, the overall energy yield of solar power plants with MLD tracking is up to 45 percent higher than that of rigid systems and this difference is even more pronounced for peaks. With more than 35,000 systems installed in more than 40 countries, DEGERenergie is the global technological market leader. The company offers its customers all product related solutions - from the development and planning, production and sales to maintenance and service.
In its headquarters in Horb (Germany), its subsidiaries and supplier companies, DEGERenergie is currently employing a staff of nearly 400. The company was founded in 1999 and in 2001 won the Inventor Award of the German state of Baden-Württemberg for the MLD control module DEGERconecter.
