Cherilyn Danzer Receives Grantham University Scholarship Through Air Force Association
The Maui Native Will Pursue Her Master's Degree in Information Technology
(firmenpresse) - KANSAS CITY, MO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/11/13 -- Grantham University, , and the Air Force Association (AFA) have awarded Cherilyn Danzer of Alexandria, VA, a full scholarship to pursue her Master of Science in Information Technology degree at Grantham.
Ms. Danzer, whose husband is an active duty member of the Air Force, is a Hawaii native who is as passionate about her education as she is about the field of information technology. She earned her undergraduate degree in computer engineering and an MBA before relocating to Alexandria. Currently she is working on a graduate certificate in information security, in addition to starting classes at Grantham.
"Information technology is very competitive," she noted, "so I need to continue gaining the most up-to-date education possible while constantly adding to my skill set. Receiving this scholarship provides me with that opportunity, even if we need to relocate due to my husband's orders."
The scholarship, valued at up to $17,000, covers the cost of tuition, textbooks, software and associated fees for the completion of her degree. This is the seventh consecutive year that Grantham and the AFA have partnered to recognize a deserving member of the Air Force community.
"We feel passionately about not only serving those who serve, but their families as well," said Joseph McGrath, Grantham University president. "Working with the AFA to award a deserving Air Force dependent, AFA member, or AFA dependent with this scholarship is the least we can do to thank them for their service."
