(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/13/13 -- The Fraser Institute will release a new study examining the state of public sector pensions and their effects on provincial government finances, Monday September 16 at 6:30 a.m. (Eastern).

The study, Public-Sector Pensions: Options for Reform from the Saskatchewan NDP, highlights how governments in many provinces since 2000 have been forced to bail out some public-sector pension plans and increase pension contribution rates. It recommends reforms that would help make public sector pension plans sustainable and ease the burden on provincial treasuries.
