MRE ACQUIRES HIGH GRADE RARE EARTH PROJECT IN MADAGASCAR

MRE RESOURCES Inc is pleased to announce its acquisition of the Ambato rare earth project in central Madagascar. Ambato covers 440 km2 and is located 200km SW of the nation’s capital of Antanarevo. MRE has identified high grade rare earth mineralisation with the potential for significant tonnage.
Ambatofinandrahana REE project (Ambato) covers 440km2 and is held by MRE through its’ 100% subsidiary Madagascar Mining Investments sarl (MMI). It is located in south central Madagascar, 200km SW of the capital of Antanareva and access to and within the property is good
Rare earth containing bastnasite has been mined since 1912 and previous exploration has identified widespread bastnasite mineralisation with average grades in the order of 3.6% TREO (Total Rare Earth Oxides). Follow up mapping and sampling by MRE has confirmed the presence of high grade rare earths and the potential for large tonnages near to surface.
In particular MRE has identified several prospects that warrant follow up of which Ankazohambo HAS the highest priority. Assays from rock chip sampling of the mineralised horizon at Ankazohambo peaked at 40.4% TREO and averaged 8.13% TREO. Uranium and thorium levels were very low.
MRE has effectively has the first mover advantage over the district and the potential of Ambato is highlighted by the facts that:
•The tenements are largely underexplored.
•Previous mapping and sampling programs have been incomplete and not systematic.
•Where previous geological visits have been made to the area, high grade rare earth mineralisation has invariably been encountered.
•No modern drilling has been undertaken on the property.
•The full areal and depth extent of REE mineralisation remains to be established.
•Large kilometre-scale anomalies and mineralised trends have been identified at surface with potentially economic grades obtained in sampling.
