the United States Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Anne
Ferro, is scheduled to present at Descartes' 'Evolution 2013' Global User&Partner Conference in Miami, Florida, November 12-14, 2013.
Appointed by President Obama in 2009, Ms. Ferro is FMCSA's longest serving
Administrator. Administrator Ferro directs FMCSA's actions to remove unsafe
motor carriers and drivers from the nation's roadways with a combination of
effective rules and regulations, education and enforcement, accountability and
compliance, and research and analysis.
Ms. Ferro's keynote presentation will provide deeper insight into the
administration's strategic plan and key programs in support of its mission,
including the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act ('MAP-21'; P.L.
112-141). Signed into law by President Obama in July 2012, and currently being
implemented, MAP-21 includes important provisions intended to improve safety
that affect commercial motor vehicle operators, brokers and forwarders.
