MacDonald Mines Appoints Officers
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 10/01/13 -- MacDonald Mines Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: BMK) ("MacDonald Mines" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of the following officers:
Richard E. Schler as Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Schler has worked for the Company and been a director since October 2003. During that period he held various positions including Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Before joining MacDonald Mines, Mr. Schler held various senior management positions with noted corporations in the manufacturing sector. Mr. Schler has over 30 years of financial management, engineering and business operations experience, he holds a MBA (Masters of Business Administration) from Western University with a background in Mechanical Engineering.
Quentin Yarie as President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Yarie has served as the Company's Senior Vice President of Exploration since January 2010 and as a director since February 2011. An experienced geophysicist and a successful entrepreneur, Mr. Yarie has over 20 years of project management and business development experience in the mining and environmental/engineering sectors, and has held positions of increasing responsibility with a number of Canadian-based geophysical service providers. From 1992-2001 Mr. Yarie was a partner of a specialized environmental and engineering consulting group where he managed a number of large projects including the ESA of the Sydney Tar Ponds, the closure of the Canadian Forces Bases in Germany and the Maritime and Northeast Pipeline project.
Peter D. Liabotis as Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Liabotis has worked for the MacDonald Mines since 2009. Mr. Liabotis is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant with over 16 years of post-qualification experience. Mr. Liabotis articled for both KPMG and PriceWaterhouseCoopers and served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for Olympia Capital from 1998 to 2008. Mr. Liabotis' diverse and international work experience has encompassed the mining, retail, manufacturing, investment funds, and insurance sectors.
