BCAMA Evening Speakers Series: Is Big Data the Death of Creativity?

(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/07/13 -- On Wednesday, October 16, 2013 the BC Chapter of the American Marketing Association (BCAMA) will host a panel discussion addressing the growing argument of whether creativity and big data can co-exist in a data-driven economy.

There is much debate in the marketing and advertising industry as to whether big data spells the death of creativity. The evolution of technology means more data can be collected from consumers. The upside for marketers is that big data can be harnessed to identify target markets. The downside? When decisions are made on the basis of numbers, creativity can be stifled, and the results can be less than inspiring.

Can creativity and big data co-exist in a data-driven economy as pieces of the bigger picture? We have invited 4 panel speakers, with different perspectives, to debate this hot topic. Moderated by Peter Reek, Founder and Principal of Smart Savvy, Inc., the speakers - who have various experiences in both the creative and data sides of the marketing and advertising industries - will offer insight into both sides of the argument.

Join us on October 16th for an enlightening evening over this controversial topic...it will be an exciting debate!
