Meru Education-Grade (MEG) Wi-Fi Networks Will Further The Douglas Stewart Company's 'Mobile Learning Ecosystem' Initiative

(firmenpresse) - ANAHEIM, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/08/13 -- Meru Networks® (NASDAQ: MERU), a leader in Wi-Fi networking, today announced that it has signed a North American distribution agreement with The Douglas Stewart Company (DSC), a leading distributor of tailored education solutions to schools and universities.

The agreement will enable Meru to benefit from DSC's reseller network's strong relationships with higher education institutions, large school districts, state departments of education and education consortia. DSC will leverage Meru Education-grade (MEG™) Wi-Fi solutions to anchor its 'Mobile Learning Ecosystem' initiative.

"Working with Meru as a core element of our expanding partner ecosystem greatly enhances our Mobile Learning initiative, and will enable our extensive VAR network to provide best-in-class Wi-Fi solutions to colleges, universities and K-12 institutions and school districts," said Chuck Hulan, chief operating officer at DSC. "We are very enthusiastic about having established this relationship, and look forward to working closely with Meru."

"We are extremely pleased to be working with Douglas Stewart, a true leader in education IT distribution, to broaden the reach of MEG solutions into K-12 and higher education," said Gary Abad, vice president of worldwide channel sales for Meru. "This relationship builds on our commitment to develop the most effective and efficient channel program in the Wi-Fi market and we are excited by the engagement of Douglas Stewart's reseller network with the promotion of our MEG solutions."

"Our relationship with The Douglas Stewart Company will extend the reach of MEG solutions into the classrooms of a larger group of educators, all of whom face exponentially-increasing device densities, 'always-on' students and faculty and accompanying increases in network traffic," said Sarosh Vesuna, vice president and general manager of the education and healthcare business unit at Meru. "We are extremely pleased to have added DSC to our education solutions distributor network."

The MEG solution is designed to solve colleges' and universities' BYOD issues and support their uninterrupted learning applications. MEG starts with three simple steps:

1. Onboard quickly with BYOD provisioning and secure wireless access mapped to IT policies.
2. Connect all BYOD devices reliably anywhere on campus.
3. Learn by deploying validated learning and teaching applications over the MEG wireless platform.
