Outotec received minerals processing technology orders from Mexico
Outotec has been awarded minerals processing technology orders by Grupo Peñoles
for four greenfield concentrators and one expansion in Mexico. The orders, worth
over EUR 47 million, have been booked in Outotec's third quarter order intake.
Outotec's deliveries include altogether 148 Outotec TankCell® flotation cells,
9 Outotec® High Rate thickeners and automation packages, including Outotec PSI®
particle size analyzers, Courier® 6i SL high performance XRF on-stream slurry
analyzers and samplers for Rey de Plata copper and lead concentrator, San Julian
Vetas zinc concentrator and Saucito Plant II silver and gold concentrator. In
addition, Outotec will deliver 6 thickeners to the expansion of San Julian gold
concentrator and provide installation and commissioning services and spare parts
for each project for one year.
The latest technological innovations in flotation and thickening create
conditions for optimal concentrator performance. Outotec's advanced on-line
analyzers provide information, which enables significant benefits through real-
time process control and optimization. Particle size monitoring and control
improves the average grinding and flotation circuit throughput and availability
while maintaining the target grind. Additionally, the grinding control improves
downstream process performance, reducing reagent consumption and increasing
metal recoveries. On-line elemental analyzers provide real-time assay
information to plant operators and process control systems for optimizing
flotation circuit recovery and concentrate quality. Reduced energy and water
consumption realize sustainability targets.
The deliveries will take place in the second half of 2014.
"Industrias Peñoles and its subsidiary Fresnillo PLC are already widely
utilizing Outotec's process technologies and equipment with proven performance.
These investments will further improve the productivity and performance of their
concentrator plants ensuring high yield and efficient operations far into the
future", states Jari Rosendal, head of Outotec's businesses in the Americas.
