Former Movianto CEO becomes new Managing Director Sales&Marketing of trans-o-flex

At the beginning of 2014, Christian Knoblich joins the Board of Directors of the specialist for pharmaceutical logistic services


(PresseBox) - As from 1st January 2014, Christian Knoblich (44) will take over the vacant position of Managing Director Sales & Marketing of the Weinheim-based trans-o-flex Logistics Group. "We are happy that we could find a top manager so soon after Kai Schmuck left the company", says Oliver Rupps, Chairman of the Board of Directors. "Christian Knoblich is a renowned expert for pharmaceutical logistics, who will also be able to quickly familiarise himself with our Group's remaining business areas." The trans-o-flex Logistics Group generates some 50 % of its turnover in its business with logistic services for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. In addition to this, the company also offers sophisticated industry-specific solutions, e.g. for the consumer electronics and music industries as well as drugstores, and numerous tailor-made concepts for sensitive products, such as the distribution of hanging garments.
Christian Knoblich has approximately 20 years of experience in the distribution, logistics and services sector for pharmaceutical and healthcare products. During recent years, he, in addition to his focus on distribution, could also acquire an extensive operational knowhow. Before joining trans-o-flex, Christian Knoblich, an Austrian citizen, worked for Movianto, where he was appointed Managing Director of the Austrian subsidiary Sanova Pharma in 2006. In 2010, he, as Managing Director Sales, Marketing & Business Development, moved to Movianto's headquarters in Stuttgart. Two years later, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer, thus taking over the overall responsibility for the pharmaceutical logistics service provider with its approximately 1,800 employees. Christian Knoblich started his career within the Celesio Group in Austria with the wholesale company Herba Chemosan Apotheker-AG before he changed to Sanova Pharma. He went to school in Paris and Vienna and studied at the Vienna University of Economics and Business where he took his Master's degree in Commercial Science. Christian Knoblich is married and has two children.





The success of the Europe-wide operating trans-o-flex Logistic Group is based on three pillars, the services of which can be perfectly combined with each other: 1. trans-o-flex Schnell-Lieferdienst offers a full-coverage network for the efficient and safe transportation of parcels and pallets (combi-freight) all over Germany. This also includes numerous additional services, such as the transportation of hazardous goods without being limited to small quantities. At the same time trans-o-flex, in its capacity as shareholder and partner of the Eurodis network, provides full-coverage combi-freight services in 34 European countries. The company has developed a large number of tailor-made solutions for specific sectors, e.g. for the pharmaceutical and home entertainment / consumer goods industries. 2. With a special network for active temperature control in the temperature ranges of between 2 and 8 °C as well as 15 and 25 °C, trans-o-flex ThermoMed takes over the transportation of temperature-sensitive goods for the pharmaceutical industry. In addition to this, ThermoMed, with its EUROTEMP network, also provides actively temperature-controlled transportation services in 15 countries in Europe. 3. Comprehensive logistic services from storage and picking/packing to value-added services, such as the set-up service for sales displays or electrical appliances, up to customer-specific transport networks are developed and implemented under the umbrella of trans-o-flex Logistik Service. In 2012, annual sales of the Group, which has a workforce of approximately 1,320 employees, amounted to ca. ? 527 million.
