Songa Offshore SE : Appointment of new Chief Operating Officer - COO

Songa Offshore SE ("Songa" or the "Company") strengthens its Management Team
with the Appointment of Mark Bessell to the position of COO. Bessell will
report to CEO Bjornar Iversen and will start in his new position 21(st) October
2013.

Mark Bessell, has extensive industry and business experience. He commenced in
the industry with Sedco and remained with Transocean for over 20 years where he
held a number of senior positions within Operations, Projects, Technical and HR.
More recently he held Senior Vice President positions with Ocean Rig.
"Mark is extremely knowledgeable, highly driven, and quality orientated -
exactly what we are looking for in this role. He understands all aspects of this
industry and the business and has a solid track record as an effective manager &
leader at this level - his appointment is another important step towards the
achievement of our goal to build "Songa Offshore -The Midwater Expert",
