Dallas Rhinoplasty Surgeon to Make Presentation at JSAPS in Tokyo
Invited as a Special Lecturer to the 36th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Jack P. Gunter Will Discuss the Latest Improvements in Second (Revision) Rhinoplasty Techniques
(firmenpresse) - DALLAS, TX -- (Marketwired) -- 10/16/13 -- An internationally recognized expert and leader in the field of rhinoplasty, has been invited to the 36th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (JSAPS), which will be held in Tokyo on Oct 17th and 18. During the two-day conference, Dr. Gunter will serve as a special lecturer and make a presentation on the subject of revision rhinoplasty.
Revision rhinoplasty, also referred to as , is a procedure performed to correct problems that have developed or persisted following a patient's first nose surgery -- such as cosmetic irregularities, functional/breathing difficulties, or simple dissatisfaction with results. Dr. Gunter's presentation, titled, "Evolution of a Personal Secondary Rhinoplasty Practice" will feature a discussion of revision rhinoplasty and the improvements he's made in the results of the initial rhinoplasty, as well as newer techniques in secondary rhinoplasty procedures.
In a recent blog post on Dr. Gunter's website entitled "," he mentions a report from the International Society of Plastic Surgeons which cites data from recent years listing Japan as the fourth highest-ranking country in the number of cosmetic surgery procedures performed annually. Ranked first was the United States, followed by Brazil and China. Japan also ranked within the top-five countries for the number of procedures performed. Praising Dr. Gunter as a leading authority of rhinoplasty in the U.S., JSAPS Chairman Otake Naoyuki has stated that Dr. Gunter's work had a major impact on the concept of rhinoplasty in Japan.
For over 27 years, Dr. Gunter has lectured for both the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He has presented on an extensive variety of rhinoplasty topics, such as challenging noses and noses with thick skin. Dr. Gunter says that sharing his expertise and experience through continuing education conferences (both nationally and internationally) is something he enjoys in order to further the advancement of techniques and to promote the safest, most precise methods. As one of the most complex and artistically intricate plastic surgery procedures, Dr. Gunter also says that it is critical for surgeons to remain well-versed with the most recent developments in rhinoplasty.
Double-Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology, is renowned as one of the nation's experts in rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. He completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Michigan, and his otolaryngology residency at Tulane University EENT Hospital. In addition to holding academic appointments as a Clinical Professor in both the Department of Plastic Surgery and the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Gunter is a member of numerous medical organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is also a founding member of The Rhinoplasty Society.
