IMC appoints two new Board members
- Prof. Dr. Alfons Balmann and Karen Fisher join Ukrainian agricultural
group
- Agricultural business experts will contribute as non-executive Board
members to IMC's efficiency
Luxemburg/Kiev, October 25, 2013 - Yesterday, the shareholders of IMC
(Industrial Milk Company S.A.), one of the leading agricultural groups in
Ukraine, approved the nomination of two new members of the Board in an
Extraordinary General Meeting. Prof. Dr. Alfons Balmann and Karen Fisher,
both citizen of Germany, join the holding as non-executive directors
pursuant to the nomination by the Board of directors dated September 10,
2013. The non-executive directors were appointed for a period of six years.
'We are glad to have appointed Prof. Dr. Alfons Balmann and Karen Fisher as
new non-executive members of the board', explained Oleksandr Petrov,
Chairman of the Board. 'Both of them will contribute to a successful
development of IMC's business activity through their expertise and their
experience in the agricultural business.'
Know-how in systematization of business processes and international network
as key competencies
Prof. Dr. Alfons Balmann, since 2002 Director and Head of Department at
IAMO, the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Central and
Eastern Europe, as well as professor at the Martin Luther University
Halle-Wittenberg, is a specialist on the organization of agricultural
businesses, investment and finance as well as structural change and policy
analysis. He also serves as a member of several professional and advisory
boards, among them the scientific advisory board 'Agricultural Policy' of
the German Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. With his
experience in organization of agricultural business as well as in
systematization of business processes Prof. Dr. Alfons Balmann will
contribute to improving the company's efficiency.
Karen Fisher, who holds a Master of Business Administration in General
Management and a Master of Arts in North and Latin America Studies and
Political Science, is co-owner and director of a consultancy, NIKA PP
Consulting Ltd. Formerly she was Deputy General Director and coordinator of
international relations of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) for six
years. Karen Fisher is supposed to give IMC guidance in international
business relations.
