INFORUM Hosts an Interview With Howard G. Buffett and Howard W. Buffett

Buffett for an in-conversation style interview with The Commonwealth Club's president and CEO, Dr. Gloria Duffy, on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at their San Francisco offices.
The program entitled, "What Would You Do? An Interview with Howard G. Buffett and Howard W. Buffett," will discuss the Buffett's fight against hunger and poverty, what they hope to accomplish with their new book, "40 Chances: Finding Hope in a Hungry World" and how to best pioneer your own 40 opportunities to do "something great in this world."
In 2006, legendary investor, Warren Buffett, posed a question to his son, Howard G. Buffett: If you had the resources to accomplish something great in the world, what would you do? Drawing on his experience as a farmer, philanthropist, businessman and risk taker, Buffett has given himself 40 years and more than $3 billion to alleviate global food insecurity as chairman and CEO of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation. Now, he and his son Howard W. Buffett, foundation trustee and professor of Public Affairs at Columbia, are sharing what they've learned with the world.
"In my day job I am a farmer. In farming, you have on average 40 growing seasons -- or 40 chances -- to produce the best crop possible. We have to learn something every year to increase our odds that next year's harvest will be better than the last," said Howard G. Buffet.
