Virtually constant line width for travel-dependent Airless spraying method is regulated automaticall(firmenpresse) - HOFMANN, the market leader for road marking technology from Rellingen, Germany, now offers a road marking machine for Airless spraying that enables a consistent paint quantity per line meter even when the marking speed changes. The result: The line width is always the same, even during alternating speeds, with minute deviations. The pump technology developed by HOFMANN enables even more precise road marking.
As explanation: The quantity of paint that is pressed through the spraying nozzle in one time unit increases at higher speeds. The pressure in the paint line that leads to the nozzle increases at the same time. If the distance of the spray gun to the pavement is maintained and the pressure in the spray gun increases, the spraying angle, and consequently the line width, will increase. For precise road marking, however, the line width must remain nearly constant under all circumstances. That is why HOFMANN developed an automatic regulation.
How it works: The spray gun is attached by two articulated arms to a frame that runs parallel to the pavement. The upper articulated arm is connected to a spring and can be pressed up to the adjustable stop. Attached in addition to the spring is a hydraulic cylinder that can press the spray gun down through the hydraulic driving force of the paint pump. The correct distance of the spray gun to the pavement, and consequently also the optimal spraying angle, is achieved through the optimal interaction of both forces of the hydraulic cylinder and the spring. Which automatically guarantees a practically consistent line width.
