San Marco welcomes back 100 of the finest artists in the country when its fall art festival returns November 16-17, 2013. This two-day juried event featuring a wide array of artwork, live music and a free art giveaway offers patrons an opportunity to get a jump-start on their holiday shopping. Admission is free and open to the public.
"This is a great alternative to crowded malls," says festival promoter Howard Alan. "Shoppers will find a variety of original artwork and unique gift items priced to suit all budgets."
The artists will line San Marco Boulevard with their gallery style display booths and will be present for the duration of the festival. All artists are juried by an independent panel of expert judges, and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. The artistic media represented include paintings, life size sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage and ceramics. All of the artwork is original and handmade in America. The San Marco Art Festival makes the arts accessible to a broad audience. Prices range from $25 hand-designed earrings to $30,000 metal sculptures.
An art giveaway will give festival patrons an opportunity to win a piece titled "Turtles" by participating artist Dan Goad. The piece will be on display at Dan's booth throughout the weekend where registration will also take place until 4:00 pm on Sunday when the winning ticket will be drawn. No purchase is necessary to participate in this giveaway.
