(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/18/13 -- Canadian publisher Grafton and Scratch Publishers demands retraction of defamatory statements made by the American Library Association edits to Twas The Night Before Christmas. (Santa remains smoke-free in 2013 in spite of criticism.)

Stephen E. Gillen Wood Herron and Evans LLP : "These allegations of Ms. Caldwell-Stone - that Ms. McColl has foisted upon the public: an act of censorship - or an act amounting to literary vandalism are false and they adversely reflect on Ms. McColl's abilities and integrity as a publisher and, as a consequence, constitute libel ....Finally, it cannot fairly be said that the GSP edition represents an act of "literary vandalism." Black's law dictionary defines "vandalism" as "such willful or malicious acts intended to damage or destroy property." On the contrary, the GSP edition is a socially responsible alternative, lauded by health professionals.... Accordingly, Ms. McColl hereby demands of Ms. Caldwell-Stone and the American Library Association that they provide a letter of retraction and apology addressed to Ms. McColl and to Laura Lynch of the CBC.

Grafton's Twas The Night Before Christmas wins 7 book prizes; gold Mom's Choice Award, four Benjamin Franklin Book Awards, a gold Moonbeam Children's Book Award, gold Global International Ebook Award. Smoke-free edition achieves #1 bestseller status on amazon.com for American poetry. English, French, Spanish, Chinese editions for 2013.

Ebook Giveaway Campaign November 18-25th 2013 online at Amazon.com, Barnes and ibook store. Twas4kids twitter.
