CTS EVENTIM acquires majority stake in cinema ticketing company CREA
Acquisition through Italian market leader TicketOne / more than 1,000
cinemas selling over 80 million cinema tickets annually / attractive
extension to existing core business
Bremen, 19. November 2013. SDAX listed CTS EVENTIM AG, Europe's leading
ticketing company, continues its expansion as it enters into the cinema
ticketing market in Italy. EVENTIM group company TicketOne S.P.A in Milan,
the Italian market leader in event ticketing, has acquired a 60% stake in
CREA Informatica. CREA's software is used in more than 1,000 cinemas
throughout Italy, selling more than 80 million tickets each year, and more
than 5 million thereof through the Internet and mobile apps. The company is
by far the leading provider of cinema ticketing solutions in Italy and also
has a strong foothold in the distribution of tickets for discotheques, a
segment characterized by strong customer loyalty and increasing integration
with the live event market.
Following its 2012 entry into the market of cultural and museum ticketing,
by acquisition of CREA TicketOne once again expands its offerings and its
customer basis. At the same time, CREA customers in the cinema and
discotheque segments are enabled to sell their tickets through TicketOne's
leading internet platform. CREA Founder and CEO Alberto Casati will
continue to hold a 40% share in the company.
