Berlin, August 12, 2010 - Logitech (SIX:LOGN; NASDAQ:LOGI) has become the
latest OEM partner of MAGIX AG (FWB: MGX). Logitech products, such as the
new series of HD web cameras, will be distributed in the future with photo
and video software from MAGIX.
'Both companies are united by a common passion for innovation with a clear
orientation to their customer base - Logitech in hardware and MAGIX in the
software sector. Our software will help Logitech to set itself apart from
the competition on the international market. In return, Logitech will
provide us with access to new customers', says Jürgen Jaron, CEO of MAGIX
AG.
Based in Switzerland, Logitech has its roots in mouse and keyboard, and
later web camera manufacture, and has grown to become one of the world's
leading producer of computer accessories, with an annual revenue of more
than $2 billion in 2009. For this reason, cooperation with Logitech makes
global distribution of MAGIX products possible. The package in question is
the video editing program MAGIX Video easy SE and MAGIX Photo Manager, a
program to manage and optimize photos.
'Both products are perfect for beginners because they lead to results
quickly and easily. With Logitech, our programs will find a direct way to
users who otherwise couldn't be reached. As the next step, pure
distribution is crucial for us; from our experience we know that new
customers, as soon as they have gotten to know our products and become
convinced of their quality, will buy higher-valued products with a high
reliability', continues Jaron.
In the course of the first nine months of the current fiscal year, the
number of registered MAGIX users rose by circa 11% to a total of 11.7
million. Over the last twelve months, this increase corresponds to 14%.
Conversion rate was 6.4%. This means that 6.4% of registered customers
bought a MAGIX product in this time period. The average price was EUR
21.68.
