ARCADIS wins multi-million dollar U.S. Federal contract to restore Tyndall Air Force Base
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the leading pure play global engineering and
consultancy firm, today announced it has been selected by the Air Force Center
for Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) to provide restoration services at Tyndall
Air Force Base. The Tyndall AFB Performance Based Remediation task order extends
through September 2020 with a total price of approximately $32 million.
The task order is performed under the $3B AFCEC Worldwide Environmental
Remediation Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract to which
ARCADIS is a party. ARCADIS will deliver fixed price remedies and strategies for
the restoration of more than 29,000 acres on a narrow 18 mile long peninsula in
the Florida Panhandle. Activated in 1941, Tyndall AFB is currently part of the
Air Combat Command and is used for training air defense crews providing combat
power for Air Force missions.
The project will include environmental restoration of 20 sites over seven years
including 11 Installation Restoration sites, nine military munitions response
and small arms range sites, two landfills, petroleum/oil/lubricant sites, a
wastewater treatment plant effluent spray field site, and former storage tank
sites and the associated soils, groundwater plumes, and drainage areas.
"ARCADIS will use innovative techniques to restore this prime ecological
corridor to unrestricted use for the Air Force," said Mark Fenner, director for
ARCADIS' global environment business line. "Returning these sites to beneficial
use in a timely manner, helps the nearly 3,000 residents at Tyndall enjoy a
better quality of life while focusing on fulfilling their mission of training
air defense crews."
