Leading Civil engineering and Construction Company in Qatar signed Phase I
contract for iTWO by RIB Software AG (RSTA )
Abu Dhabi, UAE, 26. November 2013. RIB Software AG and Al Darwish
Engineering W.L.L., have signed a Phase I agreement to implement the iTWO
model based end-to-end construction platform for the construction of the
new Engineering College Complex at Qatar University with a budget of
approx. 137 Mio. USD.
Al Darwish Engineering W.L.L in conjunction with Qatar University plans to
leverage RIB's new approach to 5D end-to-end construction process
integration that optimizes the use of CAD data by integrating the virtual
into the physical process at each step of the construction lifecycle. Qatar
University comprises seven colleges: Arts and Sciences; Business and
Economics; Education; Engineering; Law; Pharmacy and currently boasts a
population of over 15,000 students. The new Engineering College Complex
will be the first completely BIM oriented construction development for the
University, taking full advantage of BIM 5D by implementing iTWO technology
through the construction execution life-cycle. This project will serve as a
template for upcoming major construction projects under the University
expansion program.
