Cavan to Conduct Diamond Exploration in Saskatchewan
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/27/13 -- CAVAN VENTURES INC. (TSX VENTURE: CVN) ("Cavan" or the "Company") announces today that it plans to explore for diamonds on mineral claims staked in Saskatchewan that cover the historic Lake 19 flake graphite occurrence, located approximately 140 km north of a new diamond discovery announced by North Arrow Minerals at their Pikoo project (see North Arrow news release, November 5, 2013). The Company will engage Magnor Exploration (La Baie, QC) to review historical geophysics for the region, with plans to conduct glacial sediment sampling in early 2014.
The Lake 19 graphite claims lie in the Kisseynew Domain, composed of garnet-biotite gneiss, garnet-biotite-sillimanite gneiss, and locally, graphite-rich garnet-biotite gneiss (from the Saskatchewan Mineral Deposits Index: ). The Kisseynew Domain overlies the Archean-aged Sask craton, which is proposed to be the mantle source for diamonds found in kimberlites in Saskatchewan, including the new discovery at Pikoo (Saskatchewan Geological Survey, Misc. Rep. 89-4, p.168-171).
The technical contents of this release were approved by Mr. Marvin Mitchell, to P.Eng., an independent consultant to Cavan Ventures and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The property has not been the subject of a National Instrument 43-101 report, and Mr. Mitchell has not verified the technical data disclosed in this release.
