The Royal Canadian Legion Expresses its Condolences Upon Hearing the News of the Passing of Cliff Chadderton

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 12/02/13 -- The Royal Canadian Legion is deeply saddened by the passing of Major (Ret'd) Cliff Chadderton, CC, O.Ont., OStJ, CLJ, CAE, DCL, LLD and expresses its most sincere condolences to the Chadderton family and friends.

"Our hearts and prayers go out to Nina and her two children, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren," says Dominion President, Gordon Moore, upon hearing the news. Chadderton was from Thunder Bay (Fort William), ON, whose career highlights include being a former journalist, World War II Veteran, former Chief Executive Officer of the War AMPS and founder of The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program.

"There can be no doubt that the care of Veterans was always at the forefront of our organizations' mutual concern. The Legion cares for all Veterans and Cliff leaves behind an amazing legacy," says Moore. "The War Amps will be a strong and vital organization for decades to come thanks to the work of Chadderton and all the staff there now," adds Moore. For this reason, Veterans from all wars and age groups mourn the loss of this distinguished Veteran and fighter for Veterans' rights. He will be missed by all members of the Legion.
