Digital Identification Solutions Gives Green Light to Strategic
Realignment
Build-Up Phase Completed, Changes on the Management Board
Esslingen/Germany, 20th October 2010 - Digital Identification Solutions, a
leading global provider of identifications solutions, boosts its
competitiveness through an internal realignment. The main goal of the
proposed changes is to ensure the company's long-term success at its seven
global sites.
A catalogue of measures to this effect was adopted on 18th October, after
several months of preparations, with the backing of the supervisory board.
The internal realignment brings the rapid expansion which this high-tech
company has undergone since its launch in 2003 and IPO in 2006 to a
successful conclusion. After an early phase with extremely high growth
rates, the company's focus will now shift to strengthening its finances
with a view to a successful long-term development.
Accompanying this process will be a change at the company's helm: Gerd
Schaefer, the company's founder who played a key role not only in the IPO
but also in the development of the company's product portfolio and global
sales activities, will hand over his current responsibilities as CEO to a
successor. For the time being, CFO Frank Posnanski, will act as a
solitary board member. However, Gerd Schaefer will continue to be closely
linked to the company in his new role as a senior consultant.
'I would like to thank Gerd Schaefer, also on behalf of the shareholders,
for his impressive work for the company', explains Hans-Joerg Rotberg, head
of the supervisory board. 'Both the company's launch and its global
expansion will forever be inseparably linked to his name. We are very
pleased that Gerd Schaefer will continue to assist us with his advice and
his expertise', adds Rotberg.
'The moment for this strategic realignment has been well chosen, coming as
it does seven years after the company's launch', comments Gerd Schaefer. 'I
look forward to remaining closely involved in the company's future
development and to supporting it as vigorously as I have done in the past',
adds Schaefer.
