Emperor Oil Ltd. has appointed John G.F. McLeod, PEng, as chairman of the board of directors.
Mr. McLeod has been a director of the company since July 26, 2012. He has over 40 years of varied oil and gas experience, both domestic and international. He has held numerous senior management positions and served on the boards of private and public companies in a successful international career, specializing in the upstream, onshore energy industry. He previously served 15 years with Amoco Canada, including four years as chief engineer, as president and chief executive officer of Arakis Energy Corp., vice-president of operations of Pengrowth Energy Trust, chief executive officer of Rally Energy Corp., and president of United Hydrocarbon International Corp., among others.
He is currently a director of Heritage Oil PLC and Kallisto Energy Corp. He is a current member and a past president of the Association of Professional Engineers & Geoscientists of Alberta.
Gregory Fedun, chief executive officer, stated: "We welcome John to the increased responsibility as chairman. Having the opportunity to work with him will prove valuable as the company moves into the next stage of growth and development."
