Waalre, 15. November 2010 - ARCHEA Biogas N.V., a full-service provider of
biogas plants, hereby announces that its 100% subsidiary ARCHEA
Biogastechnologie GmbH located in Hess. Oldendorf, Lower Saxony, Germany,
has founded a joint venture with the Brazilian company Eco Conseitos. The
joint venture operates under the name of ARCHEA do Brazil technologia en
biogas and is located in Pomerode in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.
ARCHEA Biogastechnologie GmbH holds 51% of the new company while the
remaining 49% of the corporate shares are held by the Brazilian Eco
Conseitos. Further information on Eco Conseitos is available at

Managing director of the company is the Brazilian Mr Erzio Kriek from
Pomerode. Mr Kriek is supported by a German engineer from ARCHEA
Biogastechnologie in Hess. Oldendorf.
The Supervisory Board of the company comprises Mr Oliver Nacke, member of
the Management Board of ARCHEA Biogas N.V., and Mr. Hans Prayong, former
consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Brazil and member of the
Supervisory Board of the textile company Hering in Blumenau/Santa Catarina.
In collaboration with Eco Conseitos the company plans the construction of
two biogas plants in Ipuazu and one plant in Pomerode in January 2011.
Further biogas plant projects are already in the pipeline. The plants are
designed to transform pig slurry and waste from food production into biogas
that is used to generate electricity. The produced electricity is supplied
with the local power network.
For this purpose, ARCHEA Biogastechnologie has developed a new type of
biogas plants for Brazil that is tailored to the specific local conditions.
Due to its favourable price-performance-ratio this new type of biogas
plants is perfectly suited for the local market.
Oliver Nacke, member of the Management Board of ARCHEA: 'With our Brazilian
partners of Eco Conseitos we have created an ideal combination between
technology provider and investor. For the qualification of employees we
have entered into a co-operation agreement with FURB University in Blumenau
already in March. And even before the end of this year there will be built
pilot plant stations in Brazil which serves as trial station.'
After the successful start of the internationalisation of ARCHEA
Biogastechnologie with the foundation of ARCHEA Italia and co-operation
with Italian partners in March 2008, Brazil, as one of the BRIC countries,
is now becoming a new strategic focus of ARCHEA.
