(PresseBox) - On February 6, 2014 the winners of the renowned Prism Awards were announced in California at the world´s most important photonics fair SPIE Photonics West.
The Award:
The Prism Awards for Photonics Innovation is a leading international competition that honors the best new photonic products on the market. Since 2008 the goal of the Prism Award is to bring attention and give recognition to companies that are creating products that make a difference.
In the category ?Industrial Laser? V-GEN could prevail against their competitors ?DILAS? and ?PolarOnyx-Laser?. They have won with their ytterbium fiber laser which is characterized by its exceptionally high beam quality and adjustable pulse length for precision applications, micro-material processing and marking.

This 1070 nm ytterbium fiber laser combines the following outstanding features in just one device:

the highest peak power at 40 kW
highest pulse energy at 1.5 mJ
best beam quality at M² < 1.3
This fiber laser drills, cuts, scribes, and contours diverse materials (silicon, metals, and plastics), supporting key fields such as touch panel display, PCB manufacturing, and solar-cell, electronic, and automotive industries.
