(firmenpresse) - Hamburg. The World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index (LPI) is an interactive benchmarking tool created to help countries identify the challenges and opportunities they face in their performance on trade logistics and what they can do to improve their performance regarding logistics. With the LPI, countries can understand the challenges that they and their trading partners face in making their international logistics perform strongly. This year’s results identify Germany as the best performing country with an LPI score of 4.12. The index ranges from one to five. Additionally, Germany ranked highest at 4.10 in the aggregated 2007 to 2014. One of the German logistics companies that deliver best service is the akf siemers group, packing and logistics specialist, based in Hamburg. “We as experts in logistics and packing were very happy when we read about this year’s LPI. Probably because the abbreviation reminds us of our strong client TPI,” says Sebastian Schiffner, General Manager of the akf siemers logistik, with a smile. “We are realizing three large projects for our client in Thailand at the moment. That means packing, logistics, handling, oversize load and transport. It is all very exciting and we appreciate the trust that TPI puts in us.”
This trust is based on the good performance of the akf siemers logistik as specialist container handling, full-service projects, packing and logistics during the first shipping for the transport of a cement plant from Hamburg, Antwerp, Genoa, and Shanghai for TPI. More information about the akf siemers group, their services and business in Asia, their proper packing for machinery and plant engineering, storage, transport, and container handling can be found on the web: http://akf-gmbh.de/group.html. “We were able to convince our client from Thailand in a way that we generated two more orders in a matter of only a few days”, explains Marc Briese, Managing Director of the akf siemers group. The representatives of the packing and logistics company were recently on location to speak with their clients from TPI in Thailand. “With adl logistics in Bangkok we have a strong partner for our full-service management regarding the whole logistics and packing project,” says Schiffner. “Now that we are back in Germany, we can say that we from akf siemers were able to show our local presence in Asia even more.” The result: With TPI, the packing and logistics company is going to realize two more very interesting projects: The first one is regarding the ocean freight ex. Europe for a limestone plant with approximately 400 containers. The second one is for the relocation of a production plant for solar film foil with approximately 100 containers. Briese: “akf siemers is planning to complete the two additional projects for the machinery and plant engineering in June and the main project by the end of this year.”
The akf siemers group has not only a strong partner in Bangkok, Thailand, but also in Shanghai, China: “Our packing and logistics company has started our partnership with Shanghai Sunnew in 2007. Because of this alliance we have been able to broaden our international range of services and are now very successful in Asia as a packing and logistics company that is providing full-service. It is always a pleasure to put great logistics into practice when there are great partners and clients involved”, Schiffner sums up.
