ROWASOL cooperates with Sumitomo (SHI) Demag

(PresseBox) - Pinneberg/Germany, April 28th, 2014 ? During the previous K2013 trade fair, ROWASOL presented its cooperation project with Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics Machinery, a German-Japanese manufacturer of injection moulding machinery. This project is based on the novel "activeColourChange" technology, a liquid colour metering system specially tailored to injection moulding processes.
The activeColourChange system from Sumitomo (SHI) Demag meters the liquid colour in a closed system directly into the melt-filled metering zone of the plastification unit. In contrast to colouring with masterbatches, the upstream zones (feed zone and compression zone) remain free of colour. This means that only a much shorter section of the screw has to be purged when the colour is changed. A colour change with activeColourChange is extremely quick compared to masterbatch technology. As the supplier of liquid colours and ViscoTainers, ROWASOL participated in a demonstration of the activeColourChange process at the K2013. ViscoTec Pumpen- und Dosiertechnik GmbH was a further project partner.
