(Thomson Reuters ONE) - LIBERTY INTERNATIONAL PLCLiberty International PLC ("Liberty International") announced at itsAnnual General Meeting today that it has appointed two non-executiveDirectors, Mr Andrew Strang and Mr Andrew Huntley. Both appointmentswill be effective from Wednesday 8 July 2009.Andrew Strang, 56, was the Chairman of Threadneedle PropertyInvestments Limited until April 2009. He is a Consultant to HermesReal Estate; a member of the British Property Federation and a Memberof the Property Panel of the Association of British Insurers. He isa Chartered Surveyor having started his career with Richard Ellisthirty years ago.Andrew Huntley, 70, is also a Chartered Surveyor whose career withRichard Ellis commenced some 40 years ago. He was Chairman ofRichard Ellis in 1993 until 2002. He was a non-executive director atPillar Property plc from 2000-2005 and is currently non-executiveChairman of Panceltica Holdings Limited and a non-executive Directorof Catella Property Group, Miller Group Limited and The Real OfficeGroup Limited.Mr Strang and Mr Huntley have each confirmed that there is no furtherinformation to be disclosed in accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.13.The appointments have been made with Corporate Governance andsuccession planning in mind. Michael Rapp, who is the Chairman ofthe Group's Investment Committee, has informed the Board that hewishes to step down at the 2010 Annual General Meeting. Both newnon-executive Directors are independent, both will be appointed tothe Investment Committee and Andrew Strang will be appointed to theAudit Committee. Their appointments will ensure that LibertyInternational meets the Combined Code on Corporate Governance inrespect of both the balance of independent and non-independentdirectors on the board and the composition of the Audit Committee,which will comprise three independent non-executive directors whenAndrew Strang is appointed to that Committee.It was also announced that Graeme Gordon has appointed Raymond Fine,South African chartered accountant, as an Alternate Director, witheffect from 8 July 2009.The Chairman of Liberty International, Patrick Burgess, said:"Michael Rapp will be greatly missed by the Board when he steps downin 2010 as his contribution to the Board has been outstanding.
