Greer, South Carolina, USA. Alexium International Group Limited (ASX:AJX)
is pleased to announce that it has extended the Cooperative Research&Development Agreement (CRADA) with the US Air Force, Materials and
Manufacturing Directorate, Airbase Technologies Division, Tyndall AFB, FL
('AFRL') relating to its award winning Reactive Surface Treatment ('RST')
technology.
Over the last year, Alexium and the US Air Force have been successfully
expanding the applications of the RST technology in military and civilian
markets. Both collaborators have agreed to continue the terms of the
cooperative agreement. Under the extended agreement, both parties will
continue to work together to accelerate the development of new products for
the US DoD and for commercial civilian applications and grow the patent
portfolio. Both parties have already begun to draft a workplan and a new
CRADA agreement to reflect a multi-year collaborative activity, following
this six month extension.
The principal objective of the CRADA continues to be leveraging each others
capabilities and ensuring the rapid transition of the RST technology into
military and commercial products. 'We continue to view the U.S. Air Force
as a key technical collaborator and value the role AFRL plays,' said
Alexium Managing Director, Steve Ribich. 'Over the last year, the
collaborative research activities have resulted in a number of key
technical milestones, benefiting both parties. Continuing to grow the
relationship and taking advantage of obvious synergies benefits both
parties.'
