BayWa: excellent performance in the year 2010
Munich, 24 February 2010 - BayWa AG performed extremely well in the
financial year 2010. According to the preliminary figures, the Munich-based
trading and services group has achieved significant growth both in revenues
and in earnings before interest and tax (EBIT). Consolidated revenues stood
at EUR 7.9 billion in 2010, which is a rise of more than 8 percent compared
with a year ago. The increase in profit was even higher: EBIT, which posted
around EUR 129 million, is 12 percent above the previous year's figure.
'What is particularly gratifying is that this development in profit is not
least due to a significant improvement in operations', explained Klaus
Josef Lutz, Chief Executive Officer of BayWa AG. This business success is
to be reflected in the decision on dividend. The Board of Management
therefore intends to propose a dividend of 50 cents to the Supervisory
Board, which is an increase of 25 percent. 'We view the extremely good
results in the financial year 2010 as clear confirmation of the path we are
following. We intend to continue in this direction and, based on the
premise of profitable growth, forge ahead with the expansion of our
activities in the field of renewable energies as well as with the generally
stronger internationalisation of BayWa', commented the Chief Executive
Officer.
BayWa will be releasing the detailed figures with its financial statements
on 30 March 2011.
