Russian furniture manufacturer relies on market leader's production line
expertise
Schopfloch, February 28, 2011. HOMAG Group AG has been contracted to set up
a complete factory in Russia - the perfect opportunity for the global
market leader to demonstrate that it is a competent and reliable partner in
the field of furniture production lines. The complex production plant for
high-end home and office furniture is scheduled to go on line before the
end of 2011.
The complete order for the advanced furniture production plant under HOMAG
Group AG's project management is valued at about EUR 58 million - the HOMAG
Group's share comes to about EUR 8 million. The client, the Russian company
Mekran, is one of the country's leading furniture manufacturers. With the
new production line, which is based on the lean production principle,
Mekran is arguably setting up the most modern furniture manufacturing
facilities in Russia with the support of the specialists from HOMAG Group
Engineering.
The comprehensive large-scale project, which covers the value chain end to
end, from the tree trunk to the finished piece of furniture, will be
realized in a manufacturing hall with 30,000m²of floor space in
Krasnojarsk, Siberia. The high-tech factory will have production-to-order
capability and is designed to flexibly manufacture in two-shift operation
up to 1 million assembly elements per year.

expertise,' Homag's management board member in charge of sales Jürgen
Köppel points out. 'Our engineering experts combine the products of the
HOMAG Group and of partner firms into an optimum production line that meets
our client's specific requirements and needs.'
