The trendy organic iChoc chocolate has proved that chocolate can not only
look good, but also keep to its promises in terms of its contents. On the
market since the beginning of 2010, all 4 bar varieties have now been
awarded gold by the German Agricultural Association (DLG - Deutsche
Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft). The awarding of the prizes took place at this
year's BioFach trade fair in Nuremberg.
This distinction means that iChoc was one of the big winners at BioFach
2011. 'I am very proud that iChoc managed to win over the jury on all
levels. To be able to display a stamp like this on our products is quite
literally worth its weight in gold. Now customers can recognise the quality
of the chocolate at first glance', explains Andreas Meyer, managing
director of iChoc. ' This is particularly important for relatively new
brands.' It is no wonder that the iChoc stand attracted so much interest at
BioFach.
The newest of the iChoc products attracted the most attention. Both the
Minister for Agriculture for North Rhine Westphalia, Johannes Remmel, and
the legendary 'Tatort' Inspector and organic enthusiast, Dietmar Bär, were
fans of iChoc's rapstar Easter Bunny, 'RapRabbit'. Both men were visibly
entertained by the cheeky rapping bunny with his piercings. 'The music
video that we showed for the first time at our trade fair stand got a great
response, amazingly not just from the youngsters but also from their older
counterparts, ' explains Andreas Meyer. As of now, the RapRabbit video clip
can be viewed on iChoc's YouTube channel.
Following the positive response to the Easter range, further seasonal
products are already in the pipeline. 'There will definitely be an iChoc
Santa', explains Andreas Meyer. Whether he will go by the name of 'Hip Hop
Claus', 'Heavy Nic' or 'Swinging Santa', however, still remains to be seen!
Background Information about DLG (German Agricultural Association): The
German Agricultural Association promotes food product quality on the basis
of impartial and binding quality standards. Each year more than 24 000 food
products from both within and outside Germany are tested in the DLG Quality
Checks. Not only optimal processing and preparation, but also raw material
selection and the sensory functions of the product, are taken into account.
Only then, if a product is judged to be of outstanding quality on all
levels, is it assigned a bronze, silver or gold award. (Source:
