World Energy Holdings&Research PLC has added a new Executive Director to
its Board of Directors
March 2011, Guatemala City
World Energy Holdings&Research PLC ('WEHR' or the 'Company') is pleased
to announce the appointment of Edgar Selvin Pérez Pérez who brings
additional technical experience to assist the Company with its projects as
a Director and Chief Operations Officer.
Mr. Pérez (38) has a Master Degree in Rural Development from Local.
University Politecnica de Madrid, a Major in Biology from the University de
San Carlos de Guatemala and has 15 years of professional experience in the
field of Biological Diversity and Environmental consulting. He has
extensive experience in several energy and conservation related fields with
a special focus during 2003-2007 in hydroelectric plants and their
technical, social, and environmental relations, including, coordinator of
the multidisciplinary team in charge of the construction of the
environmental base line and biological diversity of the hydro-electrical
project Rio Hondo, Sierra de las Minas with the Institution Defensores de
la Naturaleza Foundation, advisor of the team in charge of the
Environmental impact evaluation of the hydro-electrical project 'Jones
Fall' Rio Jones, Sierrra de las Minas for the company ElectrOriente, and
advisor of the team in charge of evaluating environmental feasibility of
the project of electrical interconnection of the Pacific Ocean, San Marcos
Mazatenango stretch for Unión Fenosa. At present he consults Consejo
Nacional deÁreas Protegidas, he was the Director of the Technical Office
for Biodiversity, he assisted in organizing the Biosafety Clearing House
Mechanism from the Cartagena Protocol, he was on the Technical Committee of
the Central American Integration System, he is a member of the Executive
Committee of the Inter-American Biodiversity Information Network, he acted
as President of the Inter-sectorial Commission of the Environment, the
National Board of Science and Technology and held additional positions in
several organizations.
Jorge Vizcarra has resigned and has been replaced as Chief Executive
Officer by Mr. Pérez .
