(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) announces thatit has won orders worth 41 million euro in Germany for sustainabletechnological solutions.René van der Bruggen, CEO of Imtech: 'The high-tech orders are proofthat Imtech is reinforcing its already strong position in the Germanmarket for energy solutions and technical sustainability.'Power station in Stade: unique combination of natural gas, coal andhydrogenOn the energy production site of Dow Chemical in Stade, close toHamburg in Germany, Dow Deutschland Anlagengesellschaft and EnBW arejointly realizing a new power station. The goal for the new powerstation is to achieve a combustion efficiency of up to about 60%.This is a much higher combustion efficiency than the maximum of 46%achieved in modern coal-fired power stations. Innovative solutionswill be used to achieve this ambitious target. The use of traditionalcoal will be reduced, in return the use of natural gas will beincreased and the hydrogen generated as a by-product during chemicalprocessing will be used optimally as an extra sustainable energysource. Sophisticated energy technology will make this possible.Imtech is responsible for the complete water steam-cycle. Theassignment involves the sophisticated feed water-system, the steampressure reduction and distribution and all technical connectingsystems. This involves a complete total technical package from basicand detail engineering through to delivery, assembly, commissioningand testing of the systems.Sustainable technology for Victoria Versicherungen and historicbotanic gardenIn a new 41,000 m² office building to be built for VictoriaVersicherungen in Dusseldorf, Imtech will be responsible for alltechnical solutions, such as the innovative air and climatetechnology, electrical engineering, data facilities and fire safety.This technical infrastructure will be integrated in such a way thatthe building will be extremely energy-efficient. In addition, fourintegrated high-tech combined heat and power (CHP) systems (creationof energy by the combination of the generation of heat andelectricity in a single process with a total capacity of almost 3,900KW) will be designed and fitted on a modular basis, and incombination with an energy-efficient connection to the municipalpower station, these will lead to an exceptionally high-level energyperformance. Use of hydrogen cooling systems will reduce the amountof water used to a minimum. This high-tech cooling technology willalso ensure that the cooling of the building's computer centre islargely energy-neutral. The building will accommodate more than 900Victoria Versicherungen employees and will be completed in 2010.Imtech is also responsible for the sustainable technology for therenovation of the 'Gesellschaftshaus', the historic 9,500 m² mainbuilding of the Palmengarten in Frankfurt. This botanic garden datesfrom about 1870 and has a surface area of 29 hectares in total, wherean unique collection of tropical and subtropical plants can be seen.The Palmengarten is Germany's largest botanic garden. Here, too,Imtech will be responsible for all technical solutions and willintegrate them in such a way that the building will be sustainableand energy-efficient. The technological renovation will be completedin 2010.Energy: strong growth market for ImtechThe German energy market is a major growth market for Imtech. Imtechfocuses on optimising energy performance by means of a broad packageof energy services and specific technology solutions. This enablesImtech to integrate the entire technical infrastructure in buildingsand industrial facilities in such a way that this is sustainable andenergy-efficient.
