Celesio with new Management Board member for Patient and Consumer Solutions
Stephan Borchert takes over the division latest with effect from 1
September 2011
Stuttgart, 23 March 2011. The Supervisory Board of Celesio AG has appointed
Stephan Borchert, previously Managing Director and General Manager
International with the perfume retailer Douglas GmbH, to the company's
management board. The 41-year-old will, latest with effect from September
1, 2011, take over full responsibility for the Patient and Consumer
Solutions division which centralises the Celesio international pharmacy
business and has more than 2,300 outlets. Its brands include Lloydspharmacy
in the United Kingdom and Apotheke DocMorris.
Celesio CEO Fritz Oesterle said: 'We are delighted that in Stephan
Borchert, we have gained an exceptionally experienced expert in
international retail business to serve the organisation. This underlines
our aim of significantly expanding the business over the coming years with
non-price-regulated health, beauty and wellness products.'
Stephan Borchert has many years' strategic and operational experience in
international retail. In his final role at Douglas, he was responsible for
750 perfume shops in 20 countries. Between 2005 and 2008, he worked for the
fashion group Esprit managing its Asian cosmetics interest Red Earth in
Hong Kong. Prior to this, he spent seven years at Roland Berger, ultimately
becoming a partner with responsibility for the retail, fashion and
lifestyle divisions. Borchert began his career in 1992 at Peek&Cloppenburg having graduated in business administration from the University
of Dortmund.
