Joachim Hechler joins Kobil Systems as CTO
(PresseBox) - At the start of september, Joachim Hechler, long-standing Executive Vice President at SAP and member of SAP's Executive Council, started his new job as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Kobil Systems.
"We are exceptionally pleased to have found in Mr Hechler such a prestigious and experienced manager for the job," explained Ismet Koyun, founder and CEO of the internationally active IT security specialist based in Worms.
As the CTO, Hechler will initiate and responsibly supervise the development of new security products and solutions which can be deployed across sectors and internationally. He is leading a team of 40 developers who are focusing on the topic of security. "I have known the company for a few years now and I am impressed with its security solutions and its swift development," said Hechler. "With my involvement, I would like to further advance Kobil's products and solutions technically, especially in the mobile sector, and support the company's further internationalisation".
Before his involvement with KOBIL, Hechler worked for nearly 30 years at SAP, most recently as Executive Vice President and member of the Executive Council. During this time, Hechler took responsibility for very big product developments such as SAP ERP, PLM, SCM, CRM or SRM. Furthermore, he advanced and helped create different industry solutions, including in the production area and defence area.
Hechler takes over the role of Markus Tak who, after many years of successful work as CTO at Kobil, is now embracing the job of Chief Technology Architect (CTA).
Today Kobil solutions are a standard for digital identity and highly secure data technology. Founded in 1986 the 120-strong Kobil group, headquartered in Worms, Germany is a pioneer in the area of smart cards, one time passwords, authentication and cryptography.
It is the core of the Kobil philosophy to enable an ongoing identity and mobile security management on all platforms and on all communication channels.
Nearly half of Kobil's employees are working in development, among them leading specialists for cryptography. Kobil plays a crucial role in the development of new encryption standards.
