bmp AG: Expansion of investment activities in the area of media&marketing

bmp AG (ISIN DE0003304200) has adopted a resolution to merge bmp Media
Investors AG&Co. KGaA, a fully-owned subsidiary, with bmp AG
retroactively starting 1 January 2011.
The reason for the merger is bmp AG's strategic decision to concentrate its
future investment focus on the area of media&marketing services. bmp
draws on its experience of managing over 30 investments with an overall
very good investment success rate. Examples of these investments are
companies such as eProfessional, Gamigo, Bankier.pl, Nokaut, K2, YOC, and
nugg.ad. With these companies, bmp primarily took the role of seed and lead
investor and brought about a successful sale or IPO. It also contributed to
transforming start-ups into companies, some of which today employ far
greater than 100 employees and have established leading positions in their
respective markets.
As part of this strategic decision, bmp AG disposed of its shares in ECO
Investors Germany Management GmbH by selling them to its partner Ventegis
Capital AG. This has considerably reduced the complexity of bmp's group
structure over the course of the past twelve months, which in turn will
provide the shareholders with a higher degree of transparency. The
fundinvestment business segment will focus on supporting existing clients
from now on.
On the whole, the area of media&marketing services, which has been bmp
AG's investment focus until now, will thus continue to be strengthened and
expanded. This means that the investment focus in the future will be placed
not only on young and innovative start-ups, but also on already established
growth companies, whereby the acquisition of existing shares in businesses
or fund investments is also conceivable.
