Dr. Suzanne Strasberg Appointed Chair of MD Physician Services Board
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 09/17/14 -- Brian Peters, CEO of ., is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Suzanne Strasberg as Chair of MD Financial Holdings Inc. Board of Directors (the parent company of MD Physician Services Inc.). Dr. Strasberg takes over from Dr. John Rapin, who served as Chair for the past nine years.

It is a tremendous opportunity for me to continue to contribute to MD, which focuses on providing sound financial and wealth management advice and services to Canada's physicians," said Dr. Strasberg, who joined the board as a director in 2011.
Dr. Strasberg, who is the first female Chair of MD's board, said, "With more than 56 per cent of first-year medical students in Canada being female, I think I will bring a unique perspective to my work as Chair and provide an important lens to MD's continued evolution as the leading financial management firm for CMA members."
Dr. Strasberg works in Toronto as a member of the Jane Finch Family Health team. On staff at Humber River Regional Hospital, Dr. Strasberg's interests include pediatrics, adolescent medicine, gynecology and palliative care. She has served on many Ontario Medical Association (OMA) committees, including chairing committees that pertain to communications, physician revalidation, strategic planning and family health organization model negotiation. In 2005, Dr. Strasberg was a member of the committee that negotiated the physician services agreement between the government and the OMA.
"Dr. Strasberg is a gifted physician with great insights and wide-reaching knowledge from her many years of dedicated work with the OMA, where she served as a board director, board chair and president," said Mr. Peters. Board of Directors: Dr. Brendan Lewis (Honorary Treasurer), Dr. Mark Schonfeld (President, Langbury Holdings Ltd.; Clinical Assistant Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia), and W. Iain Scott (Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Western).
Directors who have completed their tenure and are leaving the board are: Dr. Jane Brooks, Jeffrey Gandz, Dr. Robert Hollinshead, and Mark M. Norton.
Current members of the board include: Dr. Brian Brodie (Chair of the CMA Board), Patricia Croft, George Davie, Dr. Eric Howatt, Frank H. Penny, Courtney Pratt, Joanne Vezina, and Wendy Watson.
