BDI - BioEnergy International AG: 87,000 tonnes of extremely valuable
industrial waste

---------------------------------------------------------------------

(Grambach, 05.05.2011) One of the big players in the European waste
disposal industry is opting for know-how from Austria: Enbasys GmbH, a
subsidiary of BDI - BioEnergy International AG, has obtained another
commission worth several million euros - this time from the German
SARIA-Rethmann Group for a BioGas plant. The crucial advantage is the
combination of the plant's impressive flexibility and economic performance
with its ability to process difficult industrial raw materials as well.
Supply security is guaranteed.

Experience, skill and know-how have proved decisive yet again: the Austrian
company Enbasys GmbH, a subsidiary of BDI - BioEnergy International AG, has
obtained a commission worth more than EUR 4 million from one of the biggest
waste disposal companies in Europe. With the construction of a BioGas plant
to process industrial waste for the German SARIA-Rethmann Group, BDI and
Enbasys are continuing their successful development of trendsetting 'waste
to energy' concepts for industrial users.

The BioGas plant, which is being built at the SARIA location in Marl (D)
and will be coming into operation by the end of the year, will be producing
a total of 6.3 million Nm³of BioGas per year from about 87,000 tonnes of
very different kinds of waste - from biowaste to sewage sludge and grease
trap sludge. The result: enough green power to supply 6,000 households (EU
average).

'This is a major, environmentally sound and sensible contribution to the
generation of renewable energy from biogenic raw materials that are
available locally round the clock irrespective of the time of year, so that

supply security is guaranteed', emphasises Wilhelm Hammer, CEO of BDI -
BioEnergy International AG.

The German company has been taking advantage of BDI know-how for some time
now: 'SARIA already has several Multi-Feedstock BioDiesel plants from BDI,
the outstanding feature of which is a combination of extremely high
flexibility in the processing of many different by-products and waste
materials from the oil and fats industry with very good economic
performance', explains Hammer.

With the help of the unique Enbasys BioGas technology, these advantages are
now being provided to demanding industrial users of BioGas plants too:
special plant construction skills, high functional reliability, flexibility
even when difficult raw materials are being processed and no unproductive
downtimes. 'Our strengths played an absolutely key role in this customer's
decision-making process as well', stresses the CEO of BDI - BioEnergy
International AG.
