GRENKE shareholders adopt resolution on dividend
* Shareholders approve dividend of EUR 0.70 per share
* Fiscal year 2010 at GRENKE dominated by strong, profitable growth
* Annual General Meeting approves all points of the agenda with a majority
Baden-Baden, May 10, 2011: At the Annual General Meeting today at the
Baden-Baden Congress House, the shareholders of GRENKELEASING AG authorised
the distribution of a dividend for the 2010 fiscal year of EUR 0.70 per
share (previous year: EUR 0.60). This corresponds to a dividend total of
EUR 9.6 million and will be paid on May 11, 2011.
The Annual General Meeting approved the actions of the members of the Board
of Directors and the Supervisory Board for the 2010 fiscal year and
approved all items of the agenda with a majority.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Board of Directors gave an overview of
the 2010 fiscal year and also provided the shareholders with an outlook for
the current fiscal year.
'2010 was a successful year all in all. The unusually high growth in new
business of 39.4 % is of course partly due to the low base of the
recessionary year 2009 and the rapid economic recovery in Europe. However,
we were among those companies that succeeded in decisively taking advantage
of these opportunities and turning them into success for the GRENKE Group,'
commented the CEO of the Baden-Baden company - Wolfgang Grenke - in his
speech to the shareholders.
'The 2011 fiscal year has begun well. In the first quarter of 2011 the
GRENKE Group including franchise partners increased its new business by
almost 28 %. We would like to achieve more than 20 % for the year as a
whole. Net profit is expected to increase considerably in 2011 to reach
between EUR 33 million and EUR 36 million, the highest profit in the
company's history so far,' said Dr. Uwe Hack, Deputy Chairman of the
company's Board of Directors, describing the goals for 2011.
Around 190 shareholders took part in the Annual General Meeting. The
presence at the time of voting was 82.4 %.
The company had invited students of the Markgraf-Ludwig-Gymnasium and the
Richard-Wagner-Gymnasium Baden-Baden to attend its Annual General Meeting
as part of its ongoing programme to involve local schools. A trade school
class from the Bühl Commercial Education Institute and the winners of
Sparkasse Baden-Baden Gaggenau's stock exchange planning game also attended
as guests.
As part of business start-up financing by GRENKE BANK AG in cooperation
with public-sector business development banks - GRENKE BANK has been part
of the GRENKELEASING Group since the beginning of 2009 - the company
assisted with numerous start-ups. Two of these start-ups presented their
companies prior to the Annual General Meeting: Ms. Anett Schumann with the
idea of 'muesli to go' - healthy food on the go (www.mein-mueslibecher.de)
and Thomas Fries, who was awarded the 2010 Skilled Crafts Award for
Innovation by the Heilbronn Chamber of Skilled Crafts. He presented his
collection of handbags with a completely new fastening mechanism and inside
