Michael Ford, Q.C. and Anna MacMillan Winners of 2014 Lexpert Zenith Awards
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 10/03/14 -- Two leading Davis LLP partners have been named winners of the 2014 Lexpert Zenith Award: Celebrating Today's Leaders in Practice Excellence.
Michael Ford, Q.C., from the firm's Calgary office, and Anna MacMillan, from the firm's Toronto office, were recognized for their expertise in employment law and project finance respectively.

Michael is recognized as one of Canada's leading lawyers in employment law. He has appeared before labour arbitration boards across the country on several notable matters and provides ongoing strategic advice to various national clients. He is one of only a few lawyers who is also a Certified Human Resource Professional and was one of the first to use this background to actively work with HR practitioners in addressing legal issues with an HR perspective. His dedication led him to serve on the Board of the Human Resources Institute of Alberta, where he was elected President.

Anna has a successful corporate commercial practice with a focus on project finance work. She has led complex, inter-creditor arrangements with multiple parties and has expertise drafting and negotiating contracts for the financing and development of power projects. Anna's experience in the energy sector is extensive; she has been involved with wind projects, natural gas-fired electricity generating projects, as well as hydroelectric generating stations, nuclear plants and ethanol plants. Her specific expertise lies in the renewable energy field, having acted for the developer on one of the first solar field projects in Ontario, and the lender in one of the largest non-recourse portfolios of solar fields in North America.
